Businesses claim sweet victory

NORMAN — The Norman Firehouse Art Center announced the best sample award winners for the 2013 Chocolate Festival.

Local, 2262 W. Main St., received first place for the best sample award for its coffee-crusted buffalo with chocolate barbecue sauce and brandy-infused Lait au Chocolat.

Legend’s Restaurant, 1313 W. Lindsey St., received second place for its chocolate amaretto cream cake.

The Diner, 213 E. Main St., received third place for its chocolate chili.

Other festival participants included Abbey Road Catering, Abner’s Ale House — McNellie’s in Norman, Amy Cakes, Bedre Fine Chocolates, Catering Creations, Crimson & Whipped Cream, The Custard Factory, Emma J’s Bakery, Eskimo Sno, LaBaguette Bakery and Cafe, Lohmann’s Good Things!, Michelangelo’s Coffee and Wine Bar, NCED Cafe, OKC Museum Cafe, OU Catering Department, Panera Bread, Sam’s Club, Sweets and Spurs, The Candy Basket, The Melting Pot, The Mont and Unique Confections.
