City completes annual report

NORMAN — Norman city staff have completed the annual report featuring accomplishments during 2012 and providing a snapshot of the city budget. This report is designed to keep the residents of Norman in the loop and up-to-date on important issues and events in the city.

The format is designed to highlight the programs, services and initiatives that had an impact on Norman in 2012.

In the review of city wide activities, the report addresses the tornado response, wildfire response, public safety and justice, parks and neighborhood services, community and economic development, transportation, environmental and utility services, strategic support and governance.

The city and its employees received many national, regional and state recognitions and awards in 2012 and those are included. The financial section of the report shows the distribution of the sales tax rate and property tax with expenditures and funding sources of the budget.
