Shooting victim identified

NORMAN — Norman police identified the victim of Friday night’s shooting at 3315 Woodsboro Drive as Phillip Thomas Wren, 24.

Wren is in stable condition at OU Medical Center recovering from multiple bullet wounds. Wren was found by police, wounded inside his home shortly after 10 p.m. Friday.

Detectives believe robbery may have been a motive, since some personal property was taken.

Witnesses indicate that three men were involved — a black male and two white males. The two white males fired on Wren near the front door of the residence. The black male had initially approached the house asking to use a telephone because of car trouble.

If anyone has information related to this crime, call Detective Gary Hopcus at 321-1600 or Norman Crime Stoppers at 366-7867.
