NORMAN — The application deadline for the United Way of Norman 4REAL high school freshmen leadership and volunteer program is Monday.

4REAL prepares participants for effective leadership in community service. Applicants are selected on the basis of a commitment to addressing the social challenges of today’s youth, a desire to develop personal leadership skills and an enthusiasm for volunteerism.

Some of the classes that will be offered over the eight-week program are team building, service projects and presentation skills. The class also will meet one evening with the University of Oklahoma President’s Leadership Class.

The deadline is noon Monday. The application can be accessed on the United Way website at www.unitedwaynorman.org/4real or can be picked up at the United Way office, 2424 Springer Drive, Suite 304, and can be submitted electronically to dmurphree@unitedway-norman.org or returned to the United Way office.
