NORMAN — The grand jury indicted a 65-year-old Norman woman Tuesday who was charged with a federal crime.
The Indictment alleges that Katherine Henson willfully and knowingly embezzled, stole and converted to her own use money and things of value from the Social Security Administration, a department or agency of the United States, money to which Henson knew she was not entitled and having a value in excess of $1,000.
Henson’s alleged theft or embezzlement occurred from about May 1994 through July 2012. The charge arose from an investigation by the Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General.
The charge is punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment and/or up to a $250,000 fine. United States Sentencing Guidelines may be considered, upon conviction, by the sentencing court. Federal prison sentences cannot be paroled.
