OSU provost selected U of Wyo. president

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Oklahoma State Provost Robert Sternberg has been named president of the University of Wyoming.

The UW Board of Trustees unanimously decided on Sternberg on Tuesday.

Sternberg becomes the 24th president of Wyoming’s only four-year public university. He will succeed Tom Buchanan, who is retiring.

The decision ends a search that was to be entirely secret until media outlets successfully sued to disclose the finalists’ names. UW released the names last Friday and interviewed the four finalists over the weekend.
