NORMAN — Law enforcement officers are searching for a suspect after a Norman bank was robbed Monday.
The robbery is being investigated by the FBI and the Norman Police Department. The subject is believed to be the same person who robbed the Communication Federal Credit Union at 300 12th Ave. SE in Norman on Feb. 1.
Police said that at approximately 11:49 a.m., a lone black male approached the teller counter at the Bank of Oklahoma branch inside the Homeland Grocery Store at 2600 W. Robinson St.
The subject passed a note to the teller indicating that he was armed and demanding money. The teller complied and the subject placed an undisclosed amount of money inside a folded newspaper. The subject then departed from the bank and was last observed riding a bicycle south from the Homeland Store. No one was injured in the robbery.
Surveillance photos and witness descriptions depict the subject as follows: Black male, approximately 50 years old, 5’10”, 150 pounds, thin build wearing a dark-colored jacket, plaid shirt with a white collar, a baseball-style cap with a white design on the front and wearing sunglasses.
Anyone with information regarding the robbery should contact the FBI at 290-7770. Callers may remain anonymous.
The Oklahoma Banker’s Association offers a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and/or conviction of anyone robbing a member bank.
