Nominees sought for service award

NORMAN — The Norman Children’s Rights Commission is taking nominations for its annual award to recognize outstanding service to children. The award is presented to individuals or organizations in Norman who have shown outstanding effort, achievement and/or leadership in the service to children.

Forward nomination letters to Norman Children’s Rights Commission, City of Norman, P.O. Box 370, Norman, OK 73070.

Nomination letters also can be emailed to carol.coles@normanok.gov. All nominations must be received by March 11.

Residents must include their names and telephone numbers as well contact information for nominees.

The person or organization selected by the commission will be honored at a Norman City Council meeting in April.

Activities taken into consideration include:

· Achievements — successes, results and impact.

· Efforts — personal risks taken, time expended, sacrifices made and years of service.

· Leadership — inspiration or motivation given, cooperation fostered, organizations or programs created, example set and innovations undertaken.
