NORMAN — Man was armed

An armed man entered the Motel 6 on 26th Avenue Northwest shortly after 9:30 p.m. Monday and robbed an undetermined amount of money from the clerk, Norman police said.

No arrests had been made as of noon Tuesday. Police said that a white male suspect brandishing a silver firearm fled the business in an unknown direction after taking the money.

Police searched the surrounding area but were unable to locate the suspect. He was described as a white male in his mid 20s, blonde hair, 5’10” to 6’2”, 180 to 210 pounds, with an unidentifiable tattoo on his neck.

The suspect was wearing a dark jacket, with the hood pulled up, dark jeans and a black ski mask.

The Norman Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division is investigating the incident.
