Golf clinics coming at Westwood

NORMAN — Golf clinics for women and men are back at Westwood golf course from March 26 through April 23.

The spring clinic for women is five weeks long and will be taught by David Lisle, Robert O. Smith, Richard Buchanan and other PGA and teaching professionals. The classes will be from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesdays in a small-group environment.

The men’s clinic will be taught by Lisle, Buchanan and other PGA and teaching professionals. The classes will be from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. on Tuesdaysin a small-group environment.

The classes will introduce golfers to the clubhouse policies and procedures and teach fundamental guidelines, course rules and etiquette. Golfers can learn the mechanics of the swing, putting and chipping.

On the last night, the class will move from the practice area course play. Beginning golfers and those who want to learn further skills will benefit from the clinics. During the lessons, golf clubs are provided for those who do not own them.

Call the Westwood Pro Shop at 292-9700 to register. The costis $75 or $15 per class. Those who pay for the entire clinic the first night are given a $10 discount.
