Norman masseur charged with 5 counts of sexual battery

NORMAN — A Norman masseur was charged Thursday with five counts of sexual battery to four women in Cleveland County District Court.

Walter Hugh McLauchlan, 38, was arrested Wednesday at Serenity Massage, 1005 N. Flood Ave. A Norman police detective went undercover to investigate the alleged sexual assaults in which several victims stated a man named “Mac” sexually assaulted them during their massage, according to the affidavit filed with charges.

During each alleged sexual assault, the masseuse touched the women “in a lewd and lascivious matter” without their consent, the charges stated.

The first case assigned to the detective involving McLauchlan was in February. About a week later, the detective went undercover to the business and was sexually assaulted herself by a man who identified himself as “Mac,” the affidavit stated. At that time, an arrest was not made.

The detective was assigned to another alleged sexual assault case March 18, again involving McLauchlan, or “Mac,” at the massage parlor. On March 19, the detective contacted another victim of sexual assault who stated McLauchlan had assaulted her in June 2011.

The next day, the detective went undercover to the massage parlor again. When McLauchlan sexually assaulted her a second time, she notified the arrest team and he was taken into custody, the affidavit stated.

As of Thursday, McLauchlan remained in custody at Cleveland County jail and is being held on a $20,000 bond.
