OU Law School among top 15 percent

NORMAN — The University of Oklahoma College of Law has been recognized in the top 15 percent of “Best Law Schools” in the nation by National Jurist magazine.

“We are extremely proud of this recent report naming OU as one of the nation’s premier law schools based on the objective criteria used in the study,” said OU President David Boren.  “This is a testament to the terrific work being done by our law school faculty and the quality of our law students.”

According to the National Jurist article accompanying the first-ever list published in the February 2013 issue, their staff “set out to create a new law school ranking focused on what students find most important – quality teaching, cost efficiency, and post-graduate success.” The National Jurist methodology weights criteria on post-graduate success (50 percent), student satisfaction (35 percent), and affordability and diversity (15 percent).

“We are pleased to be recognized by this new, national survey,” OU Law Dean Joe Harroz said. “The college has worked hard to achieve in the areas emphasized in the survey. We are truly proud of our students, faculty and alumni and the special community they have created.”
