NORMAN — Basketball
·Junior Jammer registration
The Norman Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the 2010 Fall Junior Jammer Basketball League for boys and girls ages 5-12 years old.
Registration deadline is Wednesday, Sept. 15 and forms may be turned in at any City of Norman Recreation Center or the Parks and Recreation main office at City Hall. Registrations may also be returned by mail to Parks and Recreation P.O. Box 370 Norman, OK 73070.
League play is set to begin Oct. 11 and games will be played at both Whittier and Irving Recreation Centers. The league is divided into seven divisions determined by age: Coed 5 and 6, boys 7 and 8, girls 7 and 8, boys 9 and 10, girls 9 and 10, boys 11 and 12 and girls 11 and 12.
Golf
· Ladies clinic on tap
The fall ladies golf clinic is a four week clinic and will again be taught by David Lisle, PGA, Rick Parish, PGA, Amber Loeffelholz, LPGA, Robert O. Smith, PGA, Taylor Anthony and others. The classes will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in a small group environment, beginning Tuesday, Sept. 21 and ending Oct. 12.
The classes will introduce students to the clubhouse policies and procedures and teach them fundamental guidelines, the mechanics of the swing, putting, chipping and some course rules and etiquette. For those who don't have their own clubs, Westwood will provide them during lessons.
Cost is $60. But for those who pay for all four classes the first night, they only have to pay $50 for the clinic. For more information or to register, call the Westwood Pro Shop at 292-9700.
· Patriot Golf Day
Westwood also holding its Fourth annual Patriot Golf DayGolfers across the country and at Westwood have the unique opportunity to donate an additional $1 or more to benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation (FoldsofHonor.org), which provides post-secondary educational scholarships for children and spouses of military service men and women killed or disabled while serving our great nation. Westwood will ask golfers to donate $1 for each round of golf you play Sept. 3-6.
“This is a great way for the golf industry to help the families of those who have lost their lives or have been injured so that we may have our freedom,” said Westwood's David Lisle. “This is a wonderful opportunity for golfers in our community to give back to those who have given everything.”

Baseball
· Select team seeks players
A Norman-based tournament 8U baseball team is being formed to play in the fall. The team will practice throughout the winter on a limited basis and play extensively in the spring and summer.
The Oklahoma Bulldog Organization is seeking the best 11 players who are ages 8 and under (as of May 1, 2011), passionate about baseball and have supportive parents. Concessions will be made for those playing multiple sports throughout the fall and winter if they qualify to make the ultimate 11 person spring/summer roster.

Cycling
·Club offers twice weekly rides
Twice-weekly bicycle rides are sponsored by the Bicycle League of Norman. Rides leave at 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays from the Brookhaven Village parking lot, 36th Avenue NW and Robinson Street, and at 6:30 p.m. Thursdays from Reaves Park. Riders are grouped by abilities and usually include three levels and distances.
