LAS VEGAS — LAS VEGAS — The 13th-ranked Oklahoma softball team picked up its biggest victory of the young season Saturday in the second day of the Desert Classic.
The Sooners run ruled No. 12 California 12-1, a few hours after taking down unranked Boise State 8-4.
Keilani Ricketts improved to 4-1 in her freshman campaign, picking up the victory against the Golden Bears. Ricketts threw all five innings and allowed one run on two hits while striking out five. She came in for relief in the game and pitched two shutout innings.
Kirsten Allen won her second game of the year in the win over the Broncos. She allowed one run on two hits in five innings in her victory.
The Sooners (7-1) finish up play in the Desert Classic today at 11 a.m. against unranked Long Beach State.
