A few weeks ago, it might have been hard to imagine Norman High being in a better position to make the playoffs than its crosstown rival Norman North.
But three wins later, the Tigers are starting to find an offensive groove and own fourth place in District 6A-2 with three games to go.
Sure, Oct. 30's trip to Midwest City is going to be a tough one, but it's sandwiched between two very winable home games against Westmoore and Lawton Eisenhower.
Victories in thos e two games would seal a playoff spot for the Tigers, which would be an amazing turnaround for second-year coach Greg Nation's squad.
Making it to 5-5 and earning a trip to the postseason is a big improvement from the 2008 squad that finished 2-8.
But everyone's fighting for their playoff lives now, so it won't be easy.
