OMAHA, Neb. — The Oklahoma-Clemson game will resume at 3:30 p.m. today and will be televised by ESPNU (Cox Cable channel 253).

OU will have Tyler Ogle, Cody Reine and Caleb Bushyhead due up in the sixth inning.

Clemson pitcher Scott Weismann had thrown 90 pitches when the game was called. It’s highly unlikely he will return to the mound.

The Sooners were on their third pitcher of the game, left-hander J.R. Robinson, when the game was postponed. He had thrown a 12⁄3 innings and just 24 pitches. He could still be an option.

Not exactly slugging away

OU’s Cody Reine was 2-for-2 when play was called. But the slugger wasn’t exactly knocking the cover off the ball. His two hits were a bunt and a tapper down the third-base line that he beat out.

Sooners were catching breaks

Not everything was going against the Sooners Tuesday night. On Reine’s bunt single in the second inning, he was clearly out of the batter’s box when he made contact with the ball. He should have been ruled out.

Also, the fifth-inning triple by Clemson’s Kyle Parker appeared to hit right on the yellow line on the outfield fence. If it hits above, it’s a home run. Parker’s shot was inches from being out of the park.

Doubled up

The Sooners got out of jam in the third inning when Bobby Shore got Wilson Boyd to bounce into a 6-4-3 double play. It was the second double play OU has turned in the College World Series.

Bushyhead is heating up

OU shortstop Caleb Bushyhead only had two RBIs in OU’s first six NCAA Tournament games. He has three in five at-bats in the College World Series. The junior had two Sunday against South Carolina. He added a third with an RBI single in the fourth inning against Clemson.
