FULLERTON, Calif. — It was a pitchers’ duel headed into the top of the seventh when Sooner Dani Dobbs gave OU the win Saturday morning.
After six innings, the score between Oklahoma and Virginia was tied at zero.
Jessica Shults reached first base on a fielding error in the top of the seventh, after which Lindsey Vandever walked.
Dobbs then came to the plate and delivered a one out double to deep right center to send Shults and Vandever home.
That was all the room the Sooners needed as Keilani Ricketts finished Virginia out in the bottom of the seventh to get the win and move to 15-5 on the year.
The Sooners return to action 6 p.m. Tuesday in Tulsa.
