Oklahoma basketball players Steven Pledger and Andrew Fitzgerald were cited for petty larceny Saturday night at the Dillard's department store in Sooner Mall.
Both players were cited at the scene at about 8:50 Saturday night. They were released after signing a ticket as a promise to appear in court at a later date.
Neither was taken into custody.
Pledger, a 6-foot-4 freshman guard, and Fitzgerald, a 6-8 freshman forward, both played extensively in the Sooners' upset victory over Texas earlier that day. Pledger scored nine points in 24 minutes. Fitzgerald started and played 19 minutes.
The Associated Press reported that store security caught Pledger and Fitzgerald concealing shirts in a plastic bag.
According to Oklahoma statutes, petty larceny convictions are punishable by a fine of up to $500 and/or six months jail time.
Pledger and Fitzgerald both suited up for practice Monday at Lloyd Noble Center.
OU coach Jeff Capel declined to comment on their status for today's 7 p.m. game against Texas Tech.
If they don't play, it will alter OU's rotation.
Pledger has averaged 19.9 minutes per game this season season. Fitzgerald has averaged 13.2 per outing, but his time on the floor has grown in Big 12 Conference play. He has started five of OU's last 10 games.
