Norman — The offensive explosion continued for Oklahoma Monday night.
The Sooners, who run-ruled Northern Iowa Sunday, finished a perfect homestand with a 17-1 victory over Missour-Kansas City at Marita Hynes Field.
Karolyne Long, who had just two extra-base hits on the season, went deep twice, both three-run homers, and drove in six runs.
Amber Flores was 3-for-3 with four runs batted in and Katie Norris went 2-for-2 with three RBIs. Chana’e Jones also got in on the act, driving in two runs on two hits.
In the circle, OU sophomore Kirsten Allen picked up her fifth victory of the season. She went three innings, giving up three hits without a run. Freshman pitcher Michelle Gascoigne pitched the final two frames and allowed UMKC’s only run.
The Sooners (21-3) hit the road today, traveling to southern California for Wednesday’s 3 p.m. doubleheader at Cal-State Northridge.
OU will stay in southern California through the weekend for the Judi Garman Classic at Cal-State Fullerton, which begins Thursday.
