SAN ANTONIO — On the second day of the Alamo Invitational, the third-ranked Oklahoma women did not card the day’s best score.
Instead, the Sooners carded the second best score, finished under par yet again and increased their lead from seven to eight strokes heading into today’s final round at Briggs Ranch Golf Course.
After a second-round 284 on Tuesday, the Sooners are at 13-under par 563. Their nearest chasers are former Big 12 rival Texas A&M (571), tourney host Texas-San Antonio (573) and SMU (578). Baylor and Tulane are tied in fifth place at 583.
The Sooners’ total 13-under par standing shattered the program’s previous 36-hole record by 11 strokes.
The Sooners, who are closing out their fall schedule, tee off at 8:30 this morning, hoping to finish off their second straight tournament victory.
