NORMAN — Norman North

Boys

Record: 9-10

Last week: Dropped a game to top-ranked Midwest City on Tuesday and a narrow 54-48 contest to Moore.

This week: The T-Wolves have a pair of road games on top, with a trip to Westmoore on Tuesday and a game at Edmond Memorial on Friday.

Outlook: It wasn’t a great week for North. Perhaps a bigger blow than the two losses was the loss of starter Payton Prince, who left the team last week. The Timberwolves will need to use the final two weeks of the regular season to reestablish an identity inside without him.

Girls

Record: 13-6

Last week: The T-Wolves followed up an overtime loss earlier in the year to Midwest City with a 44-40 defeat to the Bombers on Tuesday after leading for part of the second half. They followed that up with a decisive win over Moore on Friday.

This week: Trips to Westmoore and Edmond Memorial will be tough tests for a team that’s lost four of six.

Outlook: Things haven’t been going exactly according to plan recently for North, which has won just two of six during a brutal stretch to end the season. Things don’t get any easier from here, but games against Westmoore and Edmond Memorial, teams the T-Wolves defeated earlier in the year, should tell if their current struggles are a product of a tough schedule or some deeper issue.

Norman High

Boys

Record: 8-11

Last week: NHS followed up a big win over Southmoore on Tuesday with a loss to top-ranked Midwest City on Friday.

This week: The Tigers travel to No. 2 Edmond Memorial on Tuesday before hosting Class 5A’s 10th-ranked Del City on Friday.

Outlook: With playoff seedings set but not yet released, coach Matt Thornton wants his team to use the last two weeks of the regular season to better gel as a team as they reintegrate Jay Finley to the lineup rather than focus on wins and losses.

Girls

Record: 8-11

Last week: The Tigers dropped two games to top-15 teams in Southmoore and Midwest City.

This week: NHS has tough but winnable games at Edmond Memorial on Tuesday and a home contest against Del City on Friday.

Outlook: Last week was a hard-fought but disappointing one for the Tigers, who dropped two games they were competitive in. Contests against Memorial and Del City give them the opportunity to bounce back with what would be impressive wins.

CCS

Boys

Record: 14-4

Last week: The Royals rolled over Class A’s Maysville 70-24.

This week: CCS rounds out the regular season with three straight road games, beginning Tuesday with a trip to Paoli and then a game at Dibble on Friday.

Outlook: Rolling again after picking up two losses in the Cashion tournament two weeks ago, CCS is still improving as the Royals gear up for the playoffs, making them a very dangerous Class 2A team.

Girls

Record: 10-8

Last week: Defeated Maysville 62-18 on Tuesday.

This week: Travel to Paoli on Tuesday and Dibble on Friday.

Outlook: After facing off against Paoli, the Royals have a tough test coming Friday at Dibble, a 13-8 team that has several big wins to its name this season, including a win last week over Stratford.
