NORMAN — Alameda Church of Christ

Sunday, Senior Minister Rusty Tugman will continue the “Encounters with Jesus” sermon series with the lesson “From Guilt to Gratitude.”

Concord Missionary Baptist Church

“Touching Jesus” is the theme of the morning sermon and worship. Pastor Clark will preach from Luke 8:46. The evening sermon will be delivered by Colton Clark as the youth of the church lead in the worship.

CrossPointe Church

Sunday will continue the series “Ordinary.” A new worship experience will begin at 5 p.m.

Echo Church

This week will begin the series “The Joy Genome,” from 1 Philippians.

First Baptist Church

Sunday will be the annual Run the Race combined worship service in the sanctuary. Kenny Mossman Sr., associate athletic director at the University of Oklahoma, will be the pulpit guest. Athletes from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes will lead in worship as well.

First Christian Church

Sunday’s sermon is titled “Where Are We Headed?” based on Mark 10:46-52 with the Rev. David Spain preaching at both morning services.

First Church of Christ, Scientist

Sunday’s sermon topic will be “Everlasting Punishment.”

First Presbyterian Church

On Reformation Sunday and Stewardship Kick-off, Dr. Bob Rice will preach a sermon titled “Getting and Giving” based on Luke 12:13-21 at both morning services.

Goodrich Memorial United

Methodist Church

Sunday, Pastor Jim Shepherd’s sermon is titled “A Response to Wonder,” based on 1 Chronicles 16:27-29.

Grace Presbyterian Church

Sunday, the Rev. Todd Dole will preach from John 6:16-20, “Jesus Walks on Water.” Sunday evening, Dole will preach from 1 Peter 1:22-2:3, “Love From A Pure Heart.”

Holy Ascension Orthodox Church

Sunday is the 21st Sunday after Pentecost in Tone 4/Eothinon 10. The Saints of the day are the Martyrs Terence and Neonilla. The Orthros Gospel is from Saint John 21:1-14. The Divine Liturgy Epistle is from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Galatians 12:16-20 and the Gospel is from Saint Luke 8:41-56.

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church

Sunday will continue the sermon series “Made to Make a Difference.” The Rev. Linda Harker (sanctuary services) and the Rev. Randy Wade (Lifeline service in Fenn Hall) will preach “A Legacy That Lasts,” from Psalm 112:1-6. 

Memorial Presbyterian Church

On Sunday, the Rev. Tracy Evans’ message will be “In Need of Sight” based on Mark 9:38-50.

Morning Star Center for

Spiritual Living

Teresa Collado’s message is titled “Putting One Foot in Front of the Other: Keeping the Faith.” Collado is the executive director of Norman Addiction Information & Counseling (NAIC).

NorthHaven Church

Sunday, Dr. Randall will conclude the “Villains in the Pew” sermon series with “Norman Bates: Consumed with his Past,” from Luke 14:15-27 and Matthew 10:27-29. The choir will sing “Down to the River to Pray,” arranged by Mark Hafso. The children will have time with the pastor as they discover what is inside the mystery bag.

St. Stephen’s United

Methodist Church

Sunday, the Rev. Amy Venable’s sermon, “Oh, For a Half-Teaspoon of Faith....”, and is based on Mark 10:46-52.

South Canadian Valley Church of Christ

Sunday, Mark Woody will continue a series on the “Seven Last Statements of Christ from the Cross.” His topic will be “Victory — It is finished.”

Trinity Baptist Church

Sunday, Senior Pastor Ronnie W. Rogers will speak on “Why Believe That Scripture is True.” Sunday evening, he will speak on “The Superiority of the New Covenant,” from Hebrews 8. Lifeline Screening will be at Trinity on Nov. 5. Pre-register at 1-800-324-1851.

Trinity Lutheran Church (LC-MS)

The sermon by Pastor Dave Nehrenz for Reformation Sunday is titled “The Righteousness of God through Faith in Jesus Christ,” from Romans 3:19-28.

United Church of Norman — UCC

“Which Do You Prefer? — Darkness or Light?” is the topic of the reflection that will be shared by the Rev. Warren Jensen.

University Christian Church

Sunday, Dr. James Taylor will speak on the series “Joshua: From Defeat to Victory” titled “The Gibeonite Deception,” from Joshua 9:3-27.

University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

Victory Church of Norman

Associate Pastor Larry Ice plans to preach a sermon titled “Cheer Up. God Really Does Love You,” from Romans 8:28-39 at the afternoon service on Sunday.

Wildwood Community Church

Sunday, Teaching Pastor Bruce A. Hess will speak on “Sharing His Life.”
