St. Joseph's sets 87th annual Thanksgiving dinner
St. Joseph's Catholic Church will have its 87th annual Thanksgiving dinner 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 15. Tickets are available in the parish office.
Parish members also are invited to "Stuff the Bus" by bringing non-perishable food items for Norman's Christmas Store through Nov. 29. A collection box will be in the parish center foyer.
Holiday GriefShare seminar offered
Alameda Church of Christ will offer a GriefShare "Surviving the Holidays" seminar 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 5.
The seminar is geared to people dealing with the grief over the loss of a loved one. This seminar is free to all and free child care will be provided. For more information, go to www.alamedacofc.org.

Church plans clothing giveaway
The South Canadian Valley Church of Christ's second annual fall clothing giveaway for children and adults will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the church, 2217 24th Avenue SW.
Last year, the event drew more than 200 people and gave out more than 30 bags of food from the church's food pantry.
The church also will provide a prayer station in a separate area for anyone who would like prayers for any reason. There also will be free Spanish and English Bibles as well as a Spanish interpreter on hand.

Faith Pointe to host community dinner
Faith Pointe Baptist Church, 3404 36th Avenue NW, will have a community Thanksgiving dinner about 1 p.m. Nov. 15, immediately following the church's morning worship service.
Tickets are $3 per person with a maximum of $10 per family. They are available by calling the church office at 360-8900 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Deadline to purchase tickets will be Wednesday.
