NORMAN — St. Michael’s Episcopal Church has set Oct. 6 for its third annual Michaelmas Country Fair. Parishioners welcome the public to join them at the free event between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The annual event is a day for the entire family with children’s games, horseback riding, music, crafts, a pansy sale and a jail. St. Mike’s bakers are gearing up for the bake sale featuring a cookie buffet — where fairgoers may select and “build their own dozen” cookies to take home.
This year’s raffle items include a basketball signed by Whitney Hand, a football signed by Landry Jones and another signed by Jason White, Steve Owens and Billy Sims. Other raffle items include an Oklahoma wine basket, manicure/pedicure, a golf package for four rounds of golf at Silverhorn Golf Club, a Montana sliver belt buckle, a handmade Noah doll, Oklahoma City Thunder T-shirts and more.
Raffle tickets may be purchased in advance by visiting the church office or they can be purchased at the door the day of the fair.
A DJ will be on hand to provide music, a flea market will be ready for bargain hunters and lunch will be available for a moderate charge. Clowns near Highway 9 will direct fair goers toward the church, 1601 W. Imhoff Road.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the parish maintenance fund as well as outreach ministries in the Norman community.
