Norman — Church hosts pair of programs for parents
Two programs for parents will begin in upcoming weeks at Trinity Baptist Church, 801 N. Peters Ave.
Love & Logic, a parenting program designed to give parents practical skills, begins March 31, and registration is due in advance. More information is available at trinitynorman.org or by e-mail polly@trinitynorman.org.
The church also will host a seminar “Parenting is Hard Work” April 10. The presenters will be Dr. Scott Turansky and registered nurse Joanne Miller, who will speak on Biblical, practical strategies for parents and churches.

Spring seminar set April 10
Alameda Church of Christ’s annual spring seminar, “Living as Peacemakers,” will be 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 10 at the church, 801 E. Alameda St.
Dr. Nathan Mellor, president of Strata Leadership, LLC, vice president for community engagement and assistant professor of leadership at Oklahoma Christian University, will be the speaker. He will discuss conflict resolution in the home, workplace and church as well as how to live as peacemakers.
The seminar, child care and lunch are provided free of charge.

Church hosts bake sale, fundraiser
University Christian Church will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 27 in the gym of the church, 616 SW Bud Wilkinson Drive.
Cost is $10 and proceeds will go to the Mary Espinosa Breast Cancer Fund.
Also, the youth will host a bingo bake sale 6-8 p.m. this Saturday in the gym.
Movie night, discussion Sunday
Memorial Presbyterian Church will bring back its “Night at the Movies” program 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Fellowship Hall of the church, 601 24th Ave. SW.
This week the group will watch the movie “Fireproof” and have a short discussion afterward.
Work day set
Northeast Baptist Church, 905 E. Rock Creek Road, has planned a churchwide work day beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday. A continental breakfast will be provided.
The church’s annual women’s retreat is set for March 26-27. The theme of this year’s retreat is “Souled Out.”

‘Christ in the Passover’ tonight
“Christ in the Passover” will be performed 7:30 p.m. tonight at Southern Oklahoma Chinese Baptist Church, 625 E. Frank St.
The event is put on by the group Jews for Jesus, with Josh Sofaer doing the performance in recreating the traditional Passover service with an explanation of how it foreshadowed Jesus’ death.

Catholic women’s council offers scholarship
The Oklahoma City Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women is offering a $500 scholarship to a senior high school student from an affiliated parish.
To qualify, the student must maintain at least a 2.5 grade point average and/or pass a college entry exam, show a record of community and parish volunteer service and show financial need.

Regional event set
Jehovah’s Witness congregations in the Southwest region of Oklahoma, which includes Norman, will meet Saturday and Sunday at MacArthur Junior High School in Lawton.
“Safeguard your Spirituality” features keynote speaker Ron Emerson, traveling circuit overseer for southwest Oklahoma.
Times are 9:40 a.m. to 3:55 p.m. Saturday and 9:40 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. Sunday.
