“The Song Of The Sheep: A Convicted Song” is the theme of the morning message. The focus will be on Psalm 23:4. Pastor Clark will study the manner in which Christ leads His sheep through the worst of times. The evening service will feature a sermon by Colton Clark.

On Mission Sunday, Dr. Bob Rice will have “A Conversation with the Director of Second Wind Ministries, Josh Hammell” at both morning services. The university students will assist in worship.
Holy Ascension Orthodox Church
Sunday is the 31st Sunday after Pentecost, in Tone 1 Eothinon 1. The Epistle reading for Divine Liturgy is St. Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews 7:26-8:2. The Gospel reading is from St. Luke 18:35-43
McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church
This week will continue the sermon series “Punching Holes in the Darkness: A Series on Hurts, Hang-Ups and Healing.” The Rev. Linda Harker (sanctuary services) and the Rev. Randy Wade (Lifeline service in Fenn Hall) will preach a sermon titled “Baggage,” from Ephesians 4:25-5:2.

Sunday, the Rev. Tracy Evans’ message will be “The Parts and the Whole” based on 1 Corinthians 12:12-31a.

On Sanctity of Human Life Sunday, Senior Pastor Ronnie W. Rogers will speak on “The Death of Man as Man: Man May Choose to Live or Man May Choose to Die.” Sunday evening, he will speak on “Your Child is a Gift With Rewards” followed by a time of dedication for some of the children in the church.

For the third Sunday after the Epiphany, the sermon by Pastor David Nehrenz will be titled “The Gracious Words that Came from Jesus’ Lips,” based on Luke 4:16-30.

A scripture reading from Luke 4:14-21 will inform the message given by the Rev. Warren Jensen. The Message is titled “Does Jesus’ Role in Life have to be Our Role?”

Sunday, Dr. James Taylor will continue the series “Lessons From Solomon” titled “A Lesson About Wisdom,” from 1 Kings 3:3-15.
University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)
In Pastor Joe Summerville’s sermon based on Luke 4:14-21, Jesus announces good news to those struggling on the fringes of society and hope for the imprisoned. Communion will be celebrated at both morning services.
