Sunday, Worship Minister Bill Pink will continue the “Encounters with Jesus” sermon series with the lesson “From Persecutor to Preacher.”

Pastor Clark will preach on “Paul’s Spiritual Thanksgiving,” from 1 Timothy 1:12-13. The evening service will feature the continuing study in Ephesians on the subject “The Functional Family,” from Ephesians 6:1-4.

First Presbyterian Church
On Pledge Dedication Sunday, the Rev. Pam Normile will preach a sermon titled “No Cut Auditions” based on 1 Corinthians 12:4-7 and Mark 12:41-44 at both morning services. A welcome reception for Abbey Walker, the new associate pastor for youth, will be held in the atrium immediately following the 11 a.m. service. The annual Thanksgiving vespers will be at 5 p.m. in the sanctuary followed by dinner in Alexander Hall. No activities will be held on Wednesday.
Grace Presbyterian Church
The Rev. Todd Dole will preach from John 6:52-59, “Flesh and Blood.” Sunday evening, Dole will preach from 1 Peter 2:11-12, “Living Honorably in a Foreign Land.”
Holy Ascension Orthodox Church
Sunday is the 24th Sunday after Pentecost and the first Sunday of the Nativity Fast in Tone 2/ Eothinon 2. The saints of the day are Platos and Romanos. The Orthros Gospel is from Saint Mark 16:1-8. The Divine Liturgy Epistle is from Saint Paul’s letter to the Ephesians 2:2-14 and the Gospel is from Saint Luke 12:16-21.
McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church
Sunday will continue the sermon series “The Power of a Whisper.” The Rev. Linda Harker (sanctuary services) and the Rev. Randy Wade (Lifeline service in Fenn Hall) will preach a sermon titled “One Voice Among Many,” from 1 John 4:1.
Memorial Presbyterian Church
Sunday, the Rev. Tracy Evans’ message will be “Comforting Words?” based on Mark 13:1-8.
NorthHaven Church
Dr. Mitch Randall will bring the message “Thanksgiving Sacrifices,” from Hebrews 10:11-14, 19-25. The children will have time with Pastor Mitch as they discover what is inside the mystery bag. The choir will sing “Give Thanks and Sing,” by Lloyd Larson. Cooperating Baptist Fellowship Coordinator Steve Graham will share a Mission Moment in the service. The annual Missions Fair will he held during The Gathering at 10:30 a.m. and immediately after the service. Also, immediately after the service there will be a Thanksgiving potluck. After the service there will an informational meeting for those interested in finding out more about the upcoming mission trip to Ghana in January. At 4 p.m., the church will gather to decorate the church for Christmas.

The sermon for the 25th Sunday after Pentecost is titled “He Who Stands Firm to the End, Will Be Saved,” from Mark 13:1-13. The annual Thanksgiving dinner at noon will be prepared by the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League before the 1 p.m. voters meeting.

“God’s Redistribution Plan,” based on Hannah’s Prayer found in 1 Samuel 2:1-10, will be the Reflection topic shared by the Rev. Warren Jensen.
