NORMAN — FBC Moore to host singles event

The singles of First Baptist Church of Moore, 301 NE 27th St., will host Friday Night Live for Him at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 16.

The evening will feature speaker Doug Dees. Recreation will follow until 10 p.m. There is an optional dinner for $5 at 6:30 p.m.

ULCSC children to entertain veterans

Sunday, University Lutheran Church and Student Center Sunday school children will entertain and bring gifts to residents at the Norman Veterans Center.

The children, under the musical leadership of Cheryl Bredeson, will perform at 2 p.m. a variety of Christian and patriotic music including singing a version of Taps accompanied by Dustin Downey on the trumpet.

The outreach program is sponsored by the church’s education committee.

Oklahoma Baptists to launch major initiatives at 106th annual meeting

OKLAHOMA CITY — The Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma (BGCO) will announce two major initiatives, ReConnect Sunday School and Serve Oklahoma, at its 106th annual meeting from 6:15 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday and 9:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

The meeting, which will focus on a “Connect” theme, is a chance for Oklahoma Southern Baptists to conduct business, elect officers, gather as a community and share their vision for the church for 2013. The meeting will be at First Baptist Church in Moore, 301 N.E. 27th St.

In addition to the business activities, music, scripture and prayer will fill the two days. The meeting is open to the public and churches may send as many people as they wish to join in the spiritual renewal.

Church to host bingo tonight

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church will host bingo at 7 tonight.

A dinner of chopped beef brisket, potato salad, chips, cookies, brownies, coffee and tea will be served and prepared by the Knights of Columbus at 6:30 p.m.

Maysville church to host revival

The First Baptist Church of Maysville, 300 Ripley in Maysville, will host its fall church revival services beginning on Sunday and continuing until Wednesday.

The Sunday morning worship will start at 11 with each evening service beginning at 7 p.m.
