NORMAN — Alameda Church of Christ

Sunday, Senior Minister Rusty Tugman will continue the “Encounters with Jesus” sermon series with the lesson “From Skepticism to Sureness.”

Concord Missionary Baptist Church

2 Timothy 4:8 will be the study of the morning message. Pastor Clark will lead in the study under the subject “The Righteous Judge.” The evening service will continue the study of Ephesians 5:25-33 on the subject, “The Elevation Of Submission.”

CrossPointe Church

Sunday, the congregation will begin a new series titled “Lift.”

Faith Pointe Baptist Church

Sunday, Pastor Gann will preach a sermon titled “Peacemakers,” from Matthew 5:9-12 during the morning worship.

First Baptist Church

Sunday, the focus on International Missions continues with the sermon series “Beautiful Feet.” Dr. Wade Smith will bring the sermon during classic worship and the Rev. Brad Price will bring the sermon during LifeSong.

First Christian Church

Sunday’s sermon is titled “Finally Comes the Priest” based on Hebrews 9:24-28 with the Rev. David Spain preaching at both morning services. During both services, first- and second-graders will be presented with a Bible as a gift from the church.

First Church of Christ, Scientist

Sunday’s sermon is titled “Mortals and Immortals.”

First Presbyterian Church

Sunday, Dr. Bob Rice will have a “Conversational Sermon with Abbey Walker,” candidate for associate pastor for youth, at both morning services.

Grace Presbyterian Church

Sunday morning, the Rev. Todd Dole will preach from Leviticus 17:10-17, “Life Is in the Blood.” Sunday evening, Dole will preach from 1 Peter 2:4-10, “Jesus, the Rock of Salvation.”

Echo Church

Sunday’s topic will be “The Joy Genome, Week 3,” from 3 Philippians.

Holy Ascension Orthodox Church

Sunday is the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost in Tone 6/Eothenon 1. The Orthros Gospel is from Saint Matthew 28:16 to end. The Divine Liturgy Epistle is from Saint Paul’s second Letter to the Corinthians 4:6-15 and the Gospel is from Saint Luke10: 25-37.

McFarlin Memorial United Methodist Church

Sunday will continue the sermon series “The Power of a Whisper.” The Rev. Linda Harker will preach a sermon titled “Ears to Hear,” from 1 Samuel 3:1-11 in all services.

Memorial Presbyterian Church

Sunday, the Rev. Tracy Evans’ message will be “For What It’s Worth,” based on Mark 12:38-44.

Morning Star Center for

Spiritual Living

Tom Burns, a professor of sociology at the University of Oklahoma, will speak on the topic “Connecting with the Universal Oversoul: The Path of Gratitude.” Burns will discuss how gratitude can help individuals connect with the divine.

NorthHaven Church

Sunday, Dr. Randy Ridenour will bring the message “Living In the Darkness,” from Psalm 88. The choir will sing “Lay Down Your Troubles,” by John Purifoy. Communion will be observed. Sunday evening, Confero will continue at 6.

St. Stephen’s United

Methodist Church

This week in worship, the Rev. Amy Venable’s sermon will be “No One Said This Journey Would Be Problem-Free” and is based on Job 42:1-6, 10-17.

South Canadian Valley Church of Christ

Sunday, Bruce Kessler’s sermon will be “Where Have You Been?”

Trinity Baptist Church

Sunday, Senior Pastor Ronnie W. Rogers will speak on “Why Believe the Scripture is True.” Sunday evening, he will speak on “The Superiority of the New Covenant.”

Trinity Lutheran Church (LC-MS)

The sermon for the 24th Sunday after Pentecost from Mark 12:38-44 is titled “Everything We Have is from God Through Jesus Christ.” It also is Veterans Day and Remembering the Persecuted Church Day throughout the world.

United Church of Norman — UCC

“Is it Over? Or is it Beginning?” is the subject of the reflection to be shared by the Rev. Warren Jensen at the morning worship. The scripture text will be found in the passage from Matthew 6:24-34.

University Christian Church

Sunday, Deacon and retired Colonel Danny Marler will share his testimony. The theme will be “Honoring Our Veterans.” UCC members that served in any branch of the military will be featured in a book with pictures and information of their time in the military.

University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ELCA)

Pr. Joseph Summerville’s Sunday sermon focuses on what motivates the caring for the needy, religiosity or compassion, based on Mark 12:38-44. Holy Communion will be celebrated at both morning services.

Victory Church of Norman

Lay Minister Paul Kingery plans to preach a sermon titled “Identity Crisis,” from Galatians 2:20 at the afternoon service on Sunday.

West Wind Unitarian Universalist Congregation

The Rev. Don Fielding will share a sermon “Existentialist Hymns,” which looks to music to ask and answer philosophical questions about life and spirituality.

Wildwood Community Church

Sunday, Teaching Pastor Bruce A. Hess, will speak.
