Sunday is the fourth Sunday of Great Lent and it in commemoration of the Righteous Father John of the Ladder of Virtues in Tone 7 / Eothinon 7. His Grace, Bishop Basil, will be in attendance. The Orthros Gospel is from Saint John 20:1-10. The Divine Liturgy Epistles is from Saint Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews 6:13-20. The Gospel is from Saint Mark 9:17-30.

Sunday morning’s guest minister is the Rev. David Terrinoni, a graduate of McCormick Theological Seminary who is Chaplain of the 72nd Air Base Wing at Tinker Air Force Base and is a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force. His message is “Reconciliation,” from Luke 15:1-3, 11b-32. The evening service, The Fount, will be led by the church’s youth and young adults.

Norman Unitarian Universalist Fellowship
Mary Francis will present “Pennies For Peace,” detailing an ongoing Oklahoma effort to raise funds to build a girls school in rural Afghanistan or Pakistan by April 22, when proceeds for the project will be presented to Greg Mortenson, who will be the featured guest at the University of Oklahoma School of Engineering’s 100th anniversary celebration.

Dr. Ed Sasnett will preach the sermon “The Gospel Defined,” from 1 Corinthians 15:1-15 in the late morning service, and there will be no early service this week only. In the evening service, Sasnett will continue his series on “The Christian Doctrine of Hell.”

Fr. Alan Sutherland will lead a Lenten study group titled “I Am the Good Shepherd” Sunday evening. The event is designed for all ages and will be preceded by a soup, salad and sandwich supper.
St. Stephens United Methodist Church
The Rev. Amy Venable’s Sunday sermon is “When Rest is a Verb and Work is a Noun,” from Joshua 5:9-12. The church will participate in “One Great Hour of Sharing,” a worldwide observance of the social justice work of many denominations and also take a collection for the United Methodist Committee on Relief.
