NORMAN — St. Joseph to show ‘For Greater Glory’

A free showing of “For Greater Glory” will be at 7 p.m. on Oct. 26 in the hall at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 421 East Acres St.

The movie is R-rated due to violence depicted and viewers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by or have signed permission of a parent or guardian.

Congregations to hear church leader

Local congregations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Norman area will meet this weekend for worship services.

A general session, open to everyone, is 10 a.m. on Sunday. Live broadcasts are streamed to meetinghouses outside Norman.

Elder Bruce A. Carlson, church-wide leader, also will address priesthood leaders at 4 p.m. Saturday and all adults at 7 p.m. Saturday at 1506 W. Imhoff Road.

Revival planned at church

Dr. Ernie Perkins will conduct revival meetings on Oct. 21-24 at East Robinson Baptist Church, 4150 E. Robinson St.

Services will start at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Oct. 21 and at 7 p.m. Oct. 22-24.

Conscious Wisdom Festival set

The Conscious Wisdom Festival, a personal and spiritual development workshop, will be offered online from Oct. 16-18 at consciouswisdomfestival.com.

A pass for the entire festival is $47 and it covers every teacher and author.

Energy healer and Norman resident Leslie Draper participate in the workshop.

Collection taken for BibleSticks

University Lutheran Church and Student Center (ULCSC) has launched a drive to provide BibleSticks for troops serving in Afghanistan.

A BibleStick is a device the size of a large thumbdrive with an audio recording of the New Testament on it.

A $25 donation provides a BibleStick, batteries and headphone along with a response card and KI DZ Bibles sent to their families.

Trinity to host showcase

Trinity Baptist Church’s Songwriting Team will showcase original songs performed by local artists at 7 p.m. on Oct. 19 at the church, 801 N. Peters Ave.
