Oklahoma will honor the memory of Wayman Tisdale during today's game against Texas. Tuesday it will do the same thing for the other No. 23 in the program's storied history.
The Sooners will hold "Blake Griffin Night" during Tuesday's game against Texas Tech at Lloyd Noble Center.
The first 4,000 fans in attendance will receive a free special edition Griffin poster courtesy of Academy Sports and Outdoors. The first 2,000 fans will receive a scratch card, 100 of which will include Griffin's logo. The 100 fans receiving cards with the logo will be admitted, with one guest, to a private, postgame VIP meet-and-greet with Griffin.
It will be Griffin's first appearance at Lloyd Noble Center since playing in last year's regular-season finale against Oklahoma State.
Griffin won every major national player of the year award last season after leading OU to a 30-6 overall record and to the NCAA Tournament's Elite Eight. He averaged 22.7 points and a nation-leading 14.4 rebounds per game while shooting a Big 12 record .590 from the field. His 30 double-doubles were one shy of the NCAA single-season record.
Griffin was selected No. 1 overall in June's NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. He suffered a season-ending knee injury prior to the regular season.
