Overton earns preseason honor

NORMAN — The preseason accolades continued to roll in for Oklahoma left-handed pitcher Dillon Overton on Thursday. The junior was named to Baseball America’s 2013 Preseason All-America Third Team.

Overton earned All-Big 12 Honorable Mention honors last season after finishing second in the conference in both strikeouts (126) and innings pitched (1222⁄3 ). He went 6-3 with a 3.15 ERA over 22 appearances, including 16 starts.

Overton, along with junior right-handed pitcher Jonathan Gray, was also named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America Second Team, as selected by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, in December.
