Oklahoma middle linebacker Ryan Reynolds said Tuesday he is in the process of petitioning the NCAA for a sixth year of eligibility.
"We're trying to get a medical (hardship) right now," Reynolds said. "It's in the process with the NCAA right now. I don't think I'll find until the end of the season."
Reynolds, a fifth year senior, has suffered three major knee injuries during his time at Oklahoma. He missed the 2006 season due to a knee injury and missed the final eight games of the 2008 season due to a knee injury suffered against Texas. He also suffered a knee injury prior to the 2007 season that limited his playing time.
He feels good
OU quarterback Sam Bradford wouldn't say if his right shoulder was exactly 100 percent after the Baylor game. He did throw for 389 yards in first game back since suffering a separated shoulder in the season opener and didn't display any obvious effects of the injury. He may not be 100 percent, but he's not complaining either.
"My arm felt extremely good after the game. My arm strength is back," he said.

Wide receiver Ryan Broyles continues to practice and still has a chance of playing against Texas. Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said Broyles' shoulder blade, which was fractured against Miami, was good enough that there isn't a concern he could do more damage by playing.
"I know there's not a sense that they feel like he's going to injure it worse," Wilson said. "It's range of motion and pain tolerance, how productive can he play."
OU coach Bob Stoops said a decision on Broyles' status will be made either Thursday or Friday.
Sam's choice
OU left tackle Trent Williams said Tuesday that Bradford was pretty hot at halftime of OU's game against Baylor last Saturday. The Sooner offense struggled in the first half and the quarterback had no problem expressing his displeasure.
"That was the thing we were missing a lot was Sam's leadership," Williams said. "I haven't seen that in a long time and it kind of surprised me."
Stoops said when it comes to OU's offense, Bradford's opinion is often the most important.
"You kidding me? It doesn't take long," Stoops said. "You give him two choices and he wants that one, that's pretty simple."
Better tested?
The Sooners have two losses, but Saturday's game will be OU's third against a ranked team this season.
"We have played in some tough games already, and in those situations, hopefully we can play a little better," he said.
Texas hasn't played a ranked team in five games and their early non-conference schedule consisted of Louisiana-Monroe, Wyoming and UTEP. The Longhorns also play Central Florida Nov. 7.
Waste of grass
Owen Field is completely covered with a floor and parts of a massive stage sit in stadium's center as preparations continue for Sunday night's U2 concert. As part of a deal with the rock group, OU will receive a new $250,000 playing surface after the concert.
Offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said it was a shame the current grass was going to waste.
"We should have got some sod scrapers out there and some guys would have had some nice yards," he said. "They just covered over it."
