Granger's status uncertain

OU football notepadBy John Shinn

There hasn’t been an update on the status of the injury to defensive tackle DeMarcus Granger. He left the game late in the first half with an injury and returned the sidelines wearing a medical boot on his left leg and using crutches. Saturday night Stoops the injury was to Granger’s foot.

With the Sooners off this week, coaches didn’t meet with reporters Sunday.

Blank half

OU held Washington scoreless in the first half of Saturday night’s 55-14 victory. It was the first time since beating Baylor 35-0 in 2004. It was a streak of 34 games.

Gresham

matches Smith

OU tight end Jermaine Gresham, who caught two touchdown passes Saturday, matched Trent Smith on the Sooners’ career touchdowns list by a tight end with 16.

50-point club

Sam Bradford made his 17th career start Saturday night and he’s now 14-3 at the position. But OU’s victory also marked the Sooners’ eighth 50-or-more points performance with Bradford under center.

It also marked the 24th time during Stoops’ tenure an OU team has scored at least 50 points.

Road success

The 55 points marked the most OU’s scored in a road game since putting up 62 last season against.

The game also marked OU’s largest margin of victory on the road since a 53-7 victory over Iowa State in 2003.
