OKLAHOMA CITY — Oklahoma’s bid for a Big 12 tournament title and a second straight come-from-behind win fell one run short.
Despite a three-run ninth-inning rally, OU fell 7-6 to sixth-seeded Baylor at 12:45 this morning.
The seventh-seeded Sooners (34-24) finished the tournament 2-1 and left the bases loaded in the ninth inning. The Bears (34-24) will face Texas A&M; in the championship game at 1 p.m. today.
OU waited until the
sixth inning to get on the scoreboard and trailed 7-0 at the time. Jackson Williams scored on an error. Joe Dunigan, who went 2-for-5, drove in the other run with a single in the seventh.
The game wasn’t without controversy.
OU coach Sunny Golloway, first base coach Damon Minor and Dunigan were all ejected for arguing check-swing calls with home-plate umpire Bob Homolka.
