Chamberlain lifts Sooners over ’Cats

NORMAN — Behind a big game on a milestone day for Lauren Chamberlain, Oklahoma moved to 25-1 on the season and remained undefeated against ranked teams with a 4-0 victory over No. 14 Arizona at the Judi Garman Classic.

Chamberlain hit two home runs on the day, a pair of solo shots that upped her season total to 15 and career total to 45, putting her halfway to the all-time NCAA record a third of the way into her sophomore season.

Keilani Ricketts struck out seven Arizona (20-8) batters in the shutout to earn the win. The Sooners have outscored ranked teams 61-4 this year.

Next up for OU is a doubleheader today against Penn State and Cal State Fullerton to close out the tournament, with the first game coming at 11 a.m.
