NORMAN — It’s Mother’s Day. Go ahead and spoil your mom. If she’s still asleep, don’t wake her. If she’s up, cook breakfast. Refill her coffee or tea. Bring her this newspaper to read. This afternoon, give her time for a nap because she deserves it.
It’s appropriate that Mother’s Day comes in May, usually during graduation season. Moms made much of our success possible. They give us life, nurture us, encourage our dreams and make us better persons.
Moms were super long before the super mom term became popular. They could multi-task before we even knew what that meant.
If your mother lives elsewhere, don’t forget to call. Even if you did send that card. There will be a time when that’s not possible. And if mom is no longer with us, take a minute to think of her in those special times you shared.
Happy Mother’s Day.
