A number of state court judges call Norman their home. Another Norman resident will join a state court later this year. It will be Cleveland County's loss but the entire state's gain when District Court Judge William C. "Bill" Hetherington joins the court of civil appeals.
Judge Hetherington, a previous candidate for a state judicial post, was appointed to the position this past week. He has served as a district judge here since 1992 and was a special judge before that. Judge Hetherington replaces another Norman resident, Judge Glenn Adams, who retired this year.
Judge Hetherington is a lifelong resident of Norman. He was graduated from the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma City University's School of Law.
Judge Hetherington has the maturity, temperament and intellect to tackle state appellate matters. We applaud the governor's selection and wish Judge Hetherington well in his new post.
