Ronald Wayne Frieburg

NORMAN — Ronald Wayne Frieburg, 62, passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, at his Norman home, surrounded by loved ones, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Ron was born in Burbank, Calif. on May 22, 1950.

Ron was an awesome father, son, brother, husband, colleague and friend. Ron and his family moved to Oklahoma in 1966 where he graduated from Putman City High School in 1968.

Ron served in the United States Navy from 1968 until 1974 when he was honorably discharged.

He went to the Spartan School of Aeronautics/Mechanics in Tulsa where he graduated in 1977 as an outstanding student.

In 1974 he joined the Rogues motorcycle club where he was president of the Norman chapter from 1977 to 1981.

In 1981, he took the office of national secretary/treasurer until he retired in 1986.

Ron’s employment at Tinker Air Force Base began in 1995 where he was soon promoted to supervisor. Ron was a great man who was much loved and respected by many.

He is preceded in death by his father Robert Wayne Frieburg.

He is survived by his sons, Cason Wayne, Rocky Shane/Paul; his mother, Mary Jane Frieburg; his sister, Karen Petitt, and her husband, Ed; their three children, Adam, Kristen and Tamora.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Nicki and Chuck Dennis and Cody Cook who helped take such special care of Ron. Also to hospice (Crystal and Treba, you were like our saving grace). Ron will be greatly missed by family and friends. We will someday all be together again, may you rest in peace, Ron.
