Melinda Denise Hankins-Thorne

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Melinda Denise Hankins-Thorne, 48, of Noble, passed away March 4, 2013, in Norman. She was born to Frank and Lovell (Melton) Hankins on Sept. 14, 1964 in Norman. She graduated from Norman High School with the Class of 1982.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Journey Church 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Allen Sample officiating.

Since 2008 Melinda lovingly operated her candle business, the Hearts A Glow Soy Candles.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those who survive her include her husband, James, of Noble; son, Braden of Oklahoma City; sister, Diana Mote and husband, Steve, of Torrington, Wyo.; niece, Angela; great nephews, Cody, Hunter and Joey; her Chihuahua babies, Keiko and Abby; and countless friends who will miss her dearly.

In lieu of flowers she has requested that donations be made to the Journey Church, P.0. Box 722764, Norman, OK, 73070 in Memory of Melinda Denise Hankins-Thorne Fund.

Services are arranged and directed by McMahans Funeral Home of Noble.
