NORMAN — John Coleman Harrison, 78, of Norman, died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013. He was born October 13, 1934, in Oklahoma City, to Roy C. and Edna (Boardman) Harrison.

John married Juanita Fay Porter on April 16, 1955. He was a veteran of the US Army and Navy, and a firefighter for Moore Fire Department where he retired as an Assistant Chief in 1984, with over 20 years of service.

John was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Novella Bollinger; grandson, Michael Bollinger, Jr.; and sister, Lajoyce Monson.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita of the home; daughters, Johnna Kopszwa and husband Chris of Biloxi, Miss.; Paula Harrison Craft and husband Dirk of Anchorage, Ala., and Lenel Magri of Clovis, Calif.; son in law, Michael Bollinger of Norman; sisters, Paula Case of Noble, and Ann Robertson of Choctaw; step father, Richard Bettis of Norman; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

John’s wishes were to be cremated with no services. He preferred to be remembered riding his Harley down the highways and back roads of life with a windblown smile on his face.
