NORMAN — Cheryl Kerr Sherbina passed away Feb. 4, 2013, at age 56. Memorial services will be in June.
Cheryl was born to Robert and Bobbie Kerr and grew up in Norman, along with her sister, Teresa Whitlock and her brother, David Kerr.
Cheryl possessed a warm and generous heart. She loved to care for the young and the elderly. She had been a child-birth coach and taught deaf children at church. She worked as an ICU and Home-Health Nurse. Most recently, she could be found working with the jail ministry of a program called Celebrate Recovery in Moore.
Cheryl was a creative person with an unique vision of the world. She loved music and was always humming or singing a song. She was a wonderful photographer, painter, potter and writer.
But her children were her true passion. She was a fiercely devoted mother and grandmother. She was a one-of-a-kind woman who was dearly loved, and she will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family.
She is survived by her parents, Robert and Bobbie Kerr, formerly of Norman; her sons Jason Garms of St. Louis, Josh Garms of Perry and Sean Garms of Norman; her daughters Debbie Pierson, Rachelle McGuire of San Jose Calif., and Leah Garms of Fargo, N.D.; her grandchildren Christian, Josie, Colin, Cara, Abigail and Pharr’ell; her sister, Teresa Whitlock of Chandler, Ariz.; and her brother, David Kerr of Stillwater.
In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted, payable to the Memorial of Cheryl Sherbina. Please send all donations to the care of her daughter, Rachelle McGuire, at 1736 St. Anthony Drive, San Jose, CA 95125. Funds are used to cover the expenses of honoring her memory at the upcoming memorial service, and any excess funds will be donated to the jail ministry of Celebrate Recovery in Moore.
