NORMAN — Services for Kenneth Charles Clinton, 89, of Ada, will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Central Church of Christ. Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Purcell.
Mr. Clinton died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, at a local hospital. He was born July 30, 1923, at Signal Hill to Elmer “Slim” M. Clinton and Dovie Terry Clinton. He graduated from Rosedale High School and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from East Central University.
He married Hazel Milford on Jan. 12, 1942, in Ada, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 1991. He married Connie Henry Pegg on July 20, 1992, in Honolulu and she preceded him in death on Feb. 10, 1994. He married Mildred Young Morgan on Sept. 3, 1994, in Dallas. Mr. Clinton was a teacher at Washington Elementary School for 10 years and managed the East Central University Book Store from 1966 until 1985. He was active with the East Central University Alumni Association and the Red Red Rose. He was a member of the Central Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Hazel Clinton and Connie Clinton; a sister, Jean Miser; and one brother, Raymond Clinton.
Survivors include five sons, Larry Clinton and wife Sandra of Ada, Gary Clinton and wife Pam of Norman Dr. John Clinton and wife Becky of Norman, Phillip Clinton and wife Linda Kay of Guthrie and Tim Clinton and wife Shanon of Trinity, Ala.; two daughters, Cheryl Johnson and husband Byron of Kaufman, Texas, and Janet Alexander of Ada; 14 grandchildren, Darren Clinton, Tara Humphers, Adam Clinton, Emily Claude`, Amy Antinoro, Katy Henshaw, Lance Clinton, Tony Clinton, Matt Clinton, Charlsie Clinton, Jamie Stephen, Will Johnson, Shane Alexander and Jennifer Alexander; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons Darren Clinton, Adam Clinton, Lance Clinton, Tony Clinton, Matt Clinton, Clinton Humphers and Will Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Bill Adams and Tom Stephens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.
Memorials can be made to the East Central University Foundation, Kenneth Clinton Family Scholarship Fund.
