Aaron Dee ‘Boots’ Crandell

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Aaron Dee “Boots” Crandell, 71, of Noble, left this life to be with our lord on Oct. 11, 2012. He was born to Doctor D. and Delours Loretta Tollison Crandell on May 15, 1941 in Scipio, Okla.. He attended Indianola Public Schools. He married Sue Epps on May 31, 1963 and built a home in McAlester, Okla.. Seven years later, Boots and Sue moved to Oklahoma City with their daughter Kathleen, and in 1972; made Noble their home for the next 40 years.

Boots was a carpenter by trade and was employed by Barbour and Short Construction where he was a superintendent for many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and for many years, he participated in team roping.

Boots loved his family very much. He is survived by Sue, his dear wife of 49 years; his loving daughter, Kathleen Kester; three beautiful granddaughters, Ashlee, Shelby, and Cheyenne Kester; and three cherished great-grandchildren, Dillon, Brooklyn, and Madalynn Kester, all of Noble. He also looked forward to a new great-granddaughter to be born in January.

Other survivors include four sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Bill Kirk of McAlester; Louise Cooter of McAlester; Sue Buff of McAlester; Joann and John Brown of Kiowa; brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Eula Crandell of California; two brothers-in-law, Roy Epps and Larry Rowell ; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Kay Fish and Joyce Bonetti; and one brother, Jerry Crandell.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday Oct. 14. from 3 to 5 p.m. at Bishop Funeral Service.  The Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Monday Oct. 15 at Bishop Funeral Service.
