Anita J. (King) Hungerford

Anita J. (King) Hungerford, 75, of Tecumseh, died March 28 in Oklahoma City. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Cooper Funeral Chapel, Tecumseh, with Rev. John Mixon officiating. Burial will be in Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.

Mrs. Hungerford was born Sept. 25, 1930 in Oklahoma City, to Frank and Rosabelle (Marble) King. She grew up in Franklin and attended Blackburn School. On April 26, 1948, she married Ray E. Hungerford in Oklahoma City. Due to her husband being career Air Force, she and her family lived all over the world. After his retirement, they lived in Mansfield, Ark., San Antonio, Las Vegas, Lott, Texas, and recently in Tecumseh. Mrs. Hungerford was a homemaker and a military wife. She enjoyed bowling and bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dec. 24, 1998; a daughter, Rosemary Bartow; a brother, Jerry King; and her parents.

Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ellen Sweaney of Apple Valley, Calif.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Norman Ray and Bobbi Hungerford of Lott, Freddy and Janice Hungerford of New Orleans, and Michael and Delores Hungerford of Forsyth, Mo.; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and James Houck of Tecumseh; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Beth Kin of Mansfield, and Bryan and Alinda King of Katy, Texas; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
