The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Don Lynel Yeary, 69, of Lexington, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at Norman Regional Hospital.

Private family memorial services are scheduled for a later time. Arrangements are by Wilson-Little Funeral Home.

Don was born Dec. 15, 1942, in Purcell, one of six children born to Darst Yeary and Ruth Inez (Ramsey) Yeary. He grew up in Noble and attended Noble Schools.

Don joined the U.S. Army and served his country proudly. He worked as a general contractor in commercial construction for many years and also at Joseph Harp Correctional Center in Lexington. Don was a proud father who loved his family deeply.

He enjoyed tinkering with his metal detector and never missed an opportunity to go fishing. He will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Darst and Ruth Yeary; a daughter, Sherry Diane Yeary; a son, Don Yeary Jr.; and a brother, Dwayne Yeary.

Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Yeary of Nebraska; two brothers, Pau Yeary and wife Cindy of Oklahoma City and James Yeary and wife Linda of Lexington; two sisters, Betty Lucas and husband Jerry of Las Vegas, and Janet Dodd of Noble; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.
