Norman — A memorial service for former Norman dentist James C. Cole, 84, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Primrose Funeral Home. A reception for family and friends will follow at the Primrose events center. Interment will be about 11 a.m. Monday at Fields Cemetery in Porum, Okla.
Dr. Cole died Jan. 24, in Raleigh, N.C. after a long battle with lung disease. He spent two decades acting and modeling in New York City prior to his move to Raleigh to be close to family in July 2009.
Dr. Cole is survived by daughter, Carol Cole-Frowe and her husband Robert Frowe of Norman and Shady Shores, Texas; sons, J. Paul Cole and his partner Randy Gaugert of Raleigh, N.C., and Robert Cole of New York City; granddaughter, Kathleen “Kat” Mills of Norman; and his former wife Kathleen “Katie” Cole of Norman and his sisters Louise Purdy and husband Bill of Kerrville, Texas, and Jean Magoon of Los Angeles.
