The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Margaret Barncord, 69, of Norman, died Feb. 26, 2013, after suffering multiple strokes.

Services will be 7 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1506 W. Imhoff Road in Norman

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Arvid Sjolund and Grethel Lydia Sjolund (nee Shiffer), and her brother, Robert Arvin Sjolund.

A lover of arts, crafts and her cats, Margaret is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, William Wesley Barncord; her five children, Amanda Barncord Doerr, Serena Greene and husband Wayne, Samuel Barncord and wife Rebecca, Geneva Newton and Lydia Novakovic and husband Djuro; and nine grandchildren, Aaron, Ethan and Raymond Gilbert, Jacob and Catherine Doerr, Adelaide, Rachel and Hope Newton and Isabella Mucciacciaro.

The family requests that donations be made to the Diabetes Research & Wellness Foundation, www.diabeteswellnes.net, or A Better World Foundation, www.abwfund.org.

Friends may visit www.vondelsmithmortuary.com to leave condolences for the family.

Services are under the direction of Vondel L. Smith & Son Mortuary at South Lakes, 4000 SW 119th St. in Oklahoma City.
