Harriet Bliss Hardeman Barbour

The Norman Transcript

NORMAN — Harriet Bliss Hardeman Barbour, 87, of Norman died Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at her home.

According to her wishes, her body was donated to medical research.

Mrs. Barbour’s husband, Col. Mack Edwin Barbour, preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Margaret Barbour of Norman, Cathleen Ann Barbour Bellows and husband C. Thomas of Arlington, Texas, Valerie Barbour Nelson and husband Thomas J. of Houston; two sons, Brent Alan Barbour and wife D’neen Duhon Barbour of Norman, and Scott Malcolm Barbour and wife Jacqueline Hollis Barbour of Norman; nine grandchildren, William T. and wife Jessica of Conroe, Texas, Katherine L., James A. and John T. Nelson, all of Houston; Brent Alan Barbour and wife Jennifer and Robert W. Barbour and wife Mary Angela, Patrick Walters, Seth Malcolm and Colin Forrest Barbour, all of Norman; and five great-grandchildren.

Her children will receive familiy and friends at her home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 23.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the USO at www.USO.org or Shriners Hospital for Children Transportation Fund, care of India Shire Center, 3601 NW 36th St., Oklahoma City, OK 73112.
